On Adopting A Senior Airedale Terrier
Adopting a senior Airedale is a life changing and irreplaceable experience. Blossom's owner says it the best in her remembrance of Blossom "
Blossom has been my constant companion for the last year and loved going to work with me every day as my 'therapy dog'. Caring for and loving this sweet gentle and easy going dog this last year has been an honor for both of us.
We didn't have Blossom for very long and much less time than we had hoped, but would not have traded a minute of our time with this wonderful dog....we encourage anyone who is considering becoming a dog owner to please consider rescuing one from a local shelter or one of the many breed rescue groups. (Blossom came to NWATR from a shelter in Oregon where she had been relinquished by her owners in early 2011.)

FOSTER HOMES NEEDED THROUGHOUT THE NORTHWEST REGION.
Please put in an application and note you are interested in helping homeless Airedale Terriers by opening up your home through foster care.

A Note To Our Applicants and Supporters
Making sure temporarily homeless Airedale Terriers are immediately helped is always our priority. If you have completed an application and have not heard from us within a reasonable period of time, please contact us. Because of the volume of applicants and our limited volunteer resources, we have to rely on you check in with us periodically regarding the status of your application and the availability of a rescue Airedale Terrier. If you have it in your heart to offer some of your time to our worthy cause, please complete an application and note that you would like to help. Our ideal volunteer is one who has Airedale experience, training background is always wonderful, is home most of the time, and has secure fencing. Many times, we are not able to post all of our available Airedale Terriers. Please be sure to put in an application so we have your contact information and know your interest in adopting. The safety and happiness of our Airedales in need is our highest priority. For that reason, we are very selective with our adoptive homes.

AIRETALES; RESCUE STORIES OF THE NORTHWEST REGION
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There really is an Airedale under all of those curls!
NORTHWEST AIREDALE TERRIER RESCUE (NWATR) is an all volunteer 501 (c)(3) charitable corporation set up to assist with the welfare of Airedale Terriers in the Northwest region including Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, and Northern California with a focus on helping Airedale Terriers in need find new homes. NWATR operates under the policies and guidelines of the
Airedale Terrier Club of America Rescue Committee.
Please take a moment and explore our website. Enjoy pictures of placements at our Happy Tails page. Discover how you can help NWATR. See the current Airedales that are waiting for new homes.

We look forward to hearing from you whether you are looking to adopt one of our wonderful Airedales, or would like to donate to NWATR. A donation can be made in honor of someone's birthday, to remember a special Airedale who has crossed the Rainbow Bridge (see our Remembrance Page), or in lieu of a traditional holiday gift. We will send a customized Airedale card acknowledging your donation as well as sending a tax donation receipt to you.
***PLEASE NOTE: PLEASE DO NOT ADOPT FROM PUPPYMILL FACILITIES. PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH. ONE OF THE MANY REASONS IS THE CRUEL AND INHUMANE TREATMENT OF THE AIREDALES THAT ARE KEPT FOR BREEDING PURPOSES ONLY. HEALTH AND TEMPERAMENT ISSUES AND LACK OF BREEDER SUPPORT DURING THE LIFETIME OF THE AIREDALE ARE OTHER REASONS TO NOT SUPPORT THOSE WHO BREED ONLY FOR MONEY.***
